Early morning temp was 55 degrees.
My morning walk took me past the skate park and around the tennis courts. Activity has really picked up at the skate park and I guess it is the fact that school is starting in a few days and the kids need to make up for lost time.
Also past the School administration buildings. Every superintendent in every school district should have offices equivalent to the ones at McCall.
On my way back to the Park, along the path, I have noticed a set of steps going from the walking path, up into the McCall cemetery. This time I took the steps up to the nearest grave site that you could see from the walking path. What an interesting site. On a black grave stone there were four names. Three of the names had the same date of death in 2008. I did a little research on the web and found out that a Grandfather and two of his grandsons were killed in a plane collision at the McCall airport. There was a third grandson that was in the plane that was rescued from the wreckage by the occupants of the other plane. The grave site had numerous children's toys placed around the area. Must have been a very sad day in McCall that day.
A big rig has moved into the park. I don't know much of the details, but it is something to see. The back part of the trailer is a toy hauler. It houses a car, two ATVs, two motorcycles, and some kid play things like an electric car and bicycle. The main part of the trailer is cooled by an 18 wheeler refrigerated unit.
That evening at Tamarack, Osprey Meadows Golf Course, our team, made up of Al, Steve, James and Ben shot seven under. It was over 11 holes. Started on #8 and finished up on #18, first time this year that we played the back nine at Tamarack. Well, minus 7 wasn't enough for us to win outright so we had to go the coin flip to determine the winner. We were the winners of the coin flip. Steve also won closest to the pin on number 17. It was a good evening.
Before the golf scramble got under way we were witnesses to an Ice Bucket challenge for ALS.
Zip Line, that's not me. |
Back at the park when I returned a fellow camper walked up to me and said that the neighborhood was going down hill, seems like an aggie had moved in the park. It was him, class of 69 and he still lives in Texas up by Waco.
Hamburgers on the grill under the hat light were the order of night, along with Happy Hour.
