Good Bye Williams Sisters

August 4, 2014 Day 54

Morning temperature was 61 degrees.

I took a long walk to the tennis courts and on my return I stopped by the office and picked up my new cooler cord that I ordered from the Coleman factory and guess where it came from, New Braunfels, Texas, right down the road from San Marcos.  I will keep this cord in reserve as the repair that Skip helped me with a few days ago is holding up nicely and the cooler seems to be running better than it ever has.

For lunch today we wanted to go to the new Chinese restaurant.  When we got there a woman was sitting outside finishing up her meal, but the doors were closed.  She said that the owner had a meeting to go to at 1 PM and since he is a one man show, he had to close up.  So we changed horses and went up the road to Pueblo Lindo, the best Mexican food place in McCall.

We then took a drive further up the road to the Brundage Ski area, to check out the chair lift.  Brundage is one of two ski runs in the area, the other is Tamarack.  The chair lift looks like it would be a good ride and something we might do when Sharon's friend Andi and her husband David come for a visit next week.

That evening we had a departure dinner for Becky and Rick as this was there last day in McCall.  We ate at The Anchor which is located in the McCall Yacht Club building.  It is its first season in operation and replaced Ramano's.  We have heard good things about it and wanted to check it out.  We were not disappointed.  Along with Becky and Rick we were joined by Nancy and Al.  One big improvement is a full bar.  When it was Ramano's you had to climb up the stairs and bring your drinks down from the Yacht Club.

Later Sharon and I returned to Ice Cream Alley.  Under the small world category, standing in line we struck up a conversation with a guy from Boise.  Turns out that he was in the lighting business and had made several trips to San Marcos to do business with Wide Light, which was a neighbor of Thermon and he was a business associate with Dale Lowe, a person that I knew when working in San Marcos and also played golf with him at Onion Creek.

Today was Droop's birthday, the first and oldest of our old high school crew, the others birthdays will follow over the next several months.
