Continued morning warming trend with a temp of 51.
Today I decided to finish my walk to Hidden Lake. I'm not sure what the name of this pond is, but I will call it Hidden Lake, because you can't see it from the road and you do not know it's there unless someone tells you. It is located right at the end of the airport runway right past the Smoke Jumbers Base, in active cow pastures, as evidenced by the cow pies everywhere. To access Hidden Lake you had to climb over two fences and one pig sty. It was a long walk on a beautiful day and I made my goal before I got back into the park. At the lake a fishing family came up to wet a line or two and while I was watching they caught a couple of fish. The say the pond is stocked.
Located in one of the pastures between the fences was what looked like a pile of junk, but on closer inspection it was the remains of some kind of a steam driven piece of equipment.
Friday night at McCall Golf Club with Skip and Larry. I had a good round, it must have been because of my found wedge.
My friend Dick on his summer travels to Colorado and back passed through Chama, New Mexico and sent me this shot. Looks like it is holding up nicely.
Looking closer at the picture I sent you, I notice that I visited your dad's grave on his birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Al, Hidden Lake = Brown’s Pond. Favorite local fishing hole. Has two fishing derby contests every summer.
