Rain, Rain, go away - and it did

August 21, 2012, Day 67

Today was smoke day, lots of smoke in the area from the regional fires.  Not any new fires, just change of wind direction and we do not really know where the smoke is coming from, just that it there and makes the lower skies very hazy.  Above the haze there is blue skies and clouds.

We went to lunch today with the RV gang, sort of a fair-well lunch for Skip and Bev, at the Shore Lodge, good food, good scenery and more smoke.

We were kind of hoping that the clouds in the air would give rise to some rain, and well it did.  We had a bout a 3 inch rain, rain drops every three inches, and it lasted at least 5 minutes.

Three Inch Rain

We had Happy Hour, sort of a fair-well Happy Hour for Skip and Bev.  They are leaving in the morning, more on that tomorrow, and driving about 100 miles down the road to Ox Bow, in Hells Canyon, on their way back home.

We had cheap Pork Chops on the grill.  They must have been mis-marked as Sharon got two huge, thick pork chops for $2.15, a real steal(Sharon says they are pork tenderloin or fillet of pork not just chops). They were good along with the last of the open bottle of Poor Man's Jordan.

During the relaxing part of the evening, around 10 PM, it rained again, also about 5 minutes.  We sure hope it clears out the smoke for tomorrow.
