We were planning on making a trip to the Smoke Jumpers place just down the road today, we understand that they give great tours, but I got over come by distractions, so hopefully we will make it tomorrow.
The distractions I had today related to the Longhorn Network, a sore subject among Longhorn Fans. My frustration level had reached a peak, so I decided to drop a very polite email to The University of Texas Board of Regents to request them to put this item on their agenda, and I did, and I requested a response, and I got one. Little did I know that there was a Board of Regents meeting scheduled for today, and there was an agenda item on the docket for a report on the LHN. But, according to the news, it was pulled, at the last minute, by Pres. Powers, as he indicated that active discussions are under way at this time and did not want to do anything to disturb that process. So we will see if it takes another two years. Hopefully we will have a resolution soon, but that's what we thought a year ago.
Golf this evening at Jug Mountain, the Thursday evening scramble. $20 bucks gets you 9 holes and a cart and the opportunity to win pro shop credit. Played with Al, Iuji and Bennett, a sixteen year old that hits the ball a mile and more ofter than not (that translates to about 50%) he hits it in the fairway. We couldn't support him when he did and when he didn't we floundered. We were one under and finished just ahead of DAL. Next week we decided we would try to do it again.
