I Think I Broke a String

August 27, 2012, Day 81

Count down to departure 5 days

Tennis this morning, Franz had arranged a game with to others, Robert and Rod.  Robert is a local, looks a little hippie, long hair, rides a scooter, has some very good one liners.  Partner said we are in a hole, he responds, it's not like we are in WWII, he says keep down on the ball, it's like you are bulimic everything is coming up, too many to recount.  Rod has a house in McCall and is just breaking ground on a new home in Salt Lake.  Good games, but I still keep coming up short.  I think my tennis days are over here in McCall as on one of my very nice, off center shots, I broke the strings in my racket.  I don't understand why, according to the sticker on the racket, it was re-strung when I was in Oshkosh, May 6, 1993, I thought strings were supposed to last more than 20 years, like the roof on your house.  Maybe it was because I hadn't played any tennis for 20 years.  So this looks like a turning point in my tennis career comeback, re-string, new racket, or give it up.  Stay tuned, I think I will need Ronnie's help on this decision, I will see him sometime next week.

After tennis came back to the RV, cleaned up and Sharon and I went Whisky, Whiskey, shopping, depending on what you are looking for. Bought the ole staple, Jameson, and took a flier on some Idaho Gold, Canadian Whiskey, only $7.50 for a smaller bottle. It isn't very good.

Then it was lunch time and we had been looking at a place since we'd been here, Paradise Burgers. It was right on the main highway into town and I mean right on the highway. Sat outside as it was very warm inside, with all the sights and sounds of being on the main road. Sharon thinks the burgers were pre-cooked for the lunch rush that didn't materialize and so they re-heated them for us. Mine wasn't that bad, but not that great. Guess we'll have to take them off the list.

We had Happy Hour at our place, inside as the shade is sort of non-existent at that time of the evening. There were six of us and it was very comfortable inside the RV, with the AC running.

Dead Chicken on the Grill, with the last of the bottle of three buck chuck.
