July 14, 2013 Day 44, Sunday
OK boys and girls, today is Sunday and you know what that means, our traditional breakfast at The Pan Cake House. But, today we thought we would try something different and avoid any crowds that might be around so we went to The Club. Breakfast at the Club, is the McCall Golf Club, they serve breakfast there on Saturday's and Sunday's. Although we got there a little early, they don't start serving until 9, we were able to get started on some coffee and study the menu. Franz was out playing in the dirt so it was Eddie P, Margaret, Marcia and Sharon and I. We were the only ones eating at the Club as the rest of the people there, were there to golf. The egg Benedict's were great.
Back at the park I watched to golf up until I had to go back to the Club for some Cheap Golf. I had to stop watching just before Jordan Spieth got to the 18th hole, so I was sure he would not finish first. Golf was good on the Cedar nine and a cold beer in the parking lot topped off the evening.
When I got back to the RV, I asked Sharon if Jordan had won and she said yes. Turned on the Golf Channel and watched the shot he made at 18, he had to have some help from somewhere.
We had happy hour and a nice steak on the grill.
After dinner I settled in and watched the replay they had on the golf channel, including the shot at the 18th hole and the two bullets he dodged during the five hole play off. Reading a little bit more about it, he won $828, 000 for the victory, but the bigger things were that he qualified for the British Open, the Masters, would be exempt on the PGA tour through 2015, and because of the win got his Fed Ex points retroactive for this year, which puts him at number 11 in those standings. To date he has won over $2 million, not bad for a 19 year old. Got to bed around 12:30.
