Steven and the Hot Water Heater

August 3, 2013, Saturday Day 64

The day started out with a call from our house sitter, grandson Steven, it seems that he is having trouble with the Hot Water Heater again.  A couple of days ago the pilot light went out and he was successful in getting it re-lit and having hot water available, he called himself a master plumber.  Today was a different problem.  The hot water heater was indicating a code that said "low voltage to the thermophile ( what ever that is).  I called my neighbor, Don across the street and he came over and gave it a look, and said I should call somebody that knows what the indicated problem is.  I called Casa Mechanical and being Saturday I had to call the emergency number.  They called right back and said they would get someone out that day.  They called in another few minutes and said they had a technician in the area and he would be right over. Steven called back and said he was there and replaced the electronic box and everything was fine.  I guess there is more to being a master plumber that lighting a pilot light.

Marcia was tied up all day with a line dancing workshop put on by an expert from Boise which was followed up by a pot luck supper.

The Brewery at the top of the hill opened up today and I took a bike ride up there to see what was going on.  It is a nice place with a bar on one side with table and bar seating and the room next door looked like a big store room, which they had set up with tables for drinking and eating and a live band.  The had six beers on their menu and I sampled two of them and they were good tasting.  Talked with the owner, Gayland, and he said they were going to start selling to the local restaurants as well as start putting beer in cans this winter.  They will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will not be serving food, but you can bring your own in, until they get their food permits.  I hope it makes a go of it as it will be nice to have a brewery at the top of the hill.

Steak on the grill along with a two and a half buck chuck.
