I was jolted to reality at 8:45 this morning by Franz. He wanted to meet me at the tailgate to install his latest fabricated wire thingies to fix the tail gate and make it go up and down with the use of the handle, as designed. So quick like a bunny I jumped out of my Jammie's and into my work close to meet Franz at the tail gate. When I got there he was already hard at work installing the first of his master pieces. This latest model incorporated a little extra length so that it could be bent a such an angle to hold it in place during the opening process. To make a long story even longer the next piece was install and the tail gate functioned flawlessly. With a more than appropriate dosing on WD-40 on all the operating parts, the tail gate project was declared completed and Franz got a five star award. It's is always handy to have a handy-man around.
Today was the day Dick and Mack left for their vacation in Colorado, with interim stops in Carlsbad and Albuquerque, before arriving in Pagosa Springs.
After Franz finished the tail gate we put things back in order after our previous night's storm warning, awning, chairs, etc.
Sharon set out a nice fruit bowl to enhance the appearance of the RV.
We had a late lunch at STAX before going to the golf course for a 5:30 tee time, late night, weekend special, nine holes for ten bucks each. There was a significant amount of smoke in the area from fires, none close to us, that gave the setting sun a nice burnt orange appearance, which the pictures don't do the color justice.
I found and interesting tee on the course today, it was probably left over from the outing that was held previously during the day.
We had happy hour after we returned from golf, played in less that and hour and a half for nine holes and desert, lemon meringue pudding, GREAT!
