Bridge Over Calm Waters

August 2, 2013, Friday Day 63

At 7:30 this morning it was 44 degrees, we hare supposed to have at least one additional cool day before it warms up.  Today it didn't get out of the 70's and I think barely into the 70's.

It was a frozen fruit smoothie for breakfast then off for a brisk walk.  I walked down to the Bridge that goes across the Payette river.  On the bridge was a Grandmother and her Grandson, the Grandson was doing a little fishing and Grandma was working puzzle books.  While I was there Grandson caught a nice looking fish, looked like a trout to me.  I asked what he was using for bait and he said corn and meal worms.  He took the fish down to the bank of the river and I asked if he was putting it on a stringer.  He said no, he was leaving it down there for the muskrat that lives in the weeds.  I finished my walk back up to the park and then up the big hill and back down.  What a nice morning for a walk.

In the afternoon Franz was going to play in the dirt, so Sharon and I invited Marcia to lunch at STAX.  At 12:45 the line was out the door.  Sharon and Marcia found a place to sit inside while I waited in the line, for about a half hour.  We weren't disappointed,  Sharon and Marcia split a small Holiday sandwich, while I had a small Reuben.  These sandwiches are huge and a small is very filling and very good.

After lunch we took a walk down and through town and past the McCall jail.  Marcia was looking for a greeting card to send to Franz's sister on her birthday and wanted something with a nice picture that said McCall.  After looking in a couple of shops the ladies went into Gallery fifty five and scored.  Sharon picked up a little goody that she said would make good bathroom art.

We continued strolling down by the lake and sat for a while and watched some beach volley ball.  The temperature was still cool, so the girls were mostly fully clothed.

Before returning to the Park we went by Marcia's Father's Place, better known as My Father's Place for kiddie cones.  Kiddie cones are just the right size and the soft ice cream is very good.

We were on our own for happy hour as Margaret and Eddie P, we spending the day in Jefferson a nice drive through the canyons, and Franz returned from playing in the dirt dead tired and just wanted to rest.  It was cool so we had happy hour on the inside.  Sharon fixed a very nice plate of sausage, cheese, Kiwi fruit and crackers and I fixed the drinks.

Lamb chops on the grill while finishing up a good bottle Malbec.
