Ice Cream Alley

August 18, 2013, Sunday Day 79

We hit the ground running today, and you know that on Sunday it's TPH.  Sunday's are crowded and you have to get there early so you do not have to wait in line for a table.  This Sunday was no exception, and we started at 8 AM.  For our guests as well as Marcia and Franz I ordered the table size cinnamon roll and we loaded up from there.

Who Bird

After breakfast we took a small site seeing trip around the town to show Andi and David a little bit of McCall and its attractions.  When that was finished we went back to the RV and vegged a while waiting for lunch.

At this point I will mention the schedule.  I made a schedule for Andi and David's visit, so that we could keep on time and not miss anything real important, but we also used it as a planning tool, something we could vary as the circumstances dictated.

The first one of those was lunch, we had planned on going to STAX, but as it turned out, STAX was closed on Sunday so we opted to amend the schedule and go to Shore Line, which was on the schedule for another day.  We had a great lunch, a good cold beer and a fantastic view of the lake.  We took our time and enjoyed the afternoon as the next thing on the schedule was golf at 5 PM.

Golf it was.  The McCall Golf Course has a very good rate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, after 5 PM, 10 bucks for nine holes, plus cart, and that's what we were here for.  David and I have a traditional golf bet when we play, a buck a hole, with strokes given based on our respective handicaps.  We had a good match as usual.  I had the advantage as I had played the course before.  A lot of the trip was based on playing golf and we were going to play all three days.

After golf we had planned steaks on the grill, after happy hour.  Sharon had picked up some shrimp at Costco the last time we were there and fixed them to enjoy with our cocktails.  As time went on and a few cocktails were consumed, we decided to scrap the steak idea and head for Ice Cream Alley.

It was late in the evening, after 8, and there was still a crowd there, and the selection of Ice Cream available had decreased.  Andi had a small hot fudge sundae, David had a large banana split, but yes they had no bananas, so he opted for extra cherries, I had a LARGE hot fudge sundae and Sharon had a strawberry waffle cone.

So it was a pretty full first day.
