Mall Walking is Exercise

June 12, 2013, Day 12

Today started with a fresh fruit smoothie.  I brought along a supply of frozen fruit, but when Sharon was at the grocery store last she bought some fresh, fresh as they can be packaged at the super marker, strawberries,  black berries and blue berries along with some bananas.

The forecast for today was to be rain and wind so we decided we would take a trip, 30 miles up the road to Appleton and the Fox River Mall.  That area has really built up in the past 18 years, it is a shopping mecca for the fox river valley.  Almost every store you can think of was in the general area of the mall.  Sharon found a Home Goods store and found a decorative plate she had been looking for, for the house.  The only problem we have now is that we get to transport it back to Texas without it breaking.

After scouting out the out lying stores, we went into the Mall to see what it had to offer.  After all it was supposed to be windy and rainy outside and mall walking is exercise.  Sharon spotted a Talbot's store and she was set for a while.  We continued to walk the rest of the mall with out making other purchases.

Lunch was at Chilies nothing special.  Still not much weather, a little cool.

Then it was back to Oshkosh and a stop at golf outlet where I bought some spikes to re-spike my golf shoes, along with a tool. Not much of a problem and the golf shoes are good as new.

It started raining around 4 and continued well into the evening, quite hard at times.  The rain falling on the slide out tops sounds something like the rain falling on our patio cover in Sun City.  We missed all the real heavy weather as it went to the south and clobbered Chicago.  Needless to say it was too much rain for grilling, as we have not put out the awning since we have quite adequate shade from the near by trees.  So we had a inside meal.  Oh yes, Happy Hour, I finished off the David Heath supplied Jameson and went directly to the Rolland Savinas supplied Jameson, sooooo, last evening's happy hour was sponsored in part by Rolland.  Again let me remind you that happy hour sponsorships are still available, just drop me a note.

For some reason I got hooked on the Hockey game last night and did not go to bed until midnight.  As the hockey game was winding up there was a trailer that came into the park and proceeded to park directly behind us.  Must be a good backer to put that thing is a space when it was pitch black.

Sorry no pictures, I left my camera behind today, I'll try harder tomorrow.

  1. That bottle of Jameson I gave you must have had a leak as it was emptied pretty fast!

  2. Yes it did and the good thing was that it leaked right into my glass.
