Golf at OCC North

June 8, 2013 Day 8

Temp this morning was 58 and it is forecast to be a nice day, we have planned to play golf with Ben and Nancy at Oshkosh Country Club in the afternoon.

So for the morning Sharon and I just hung around the RV did a little reading and mainly just relaxed.

We met the Schneider's at OCC North around 2 and the skies were still over cast and the temp was 68, so I dressed warmly.  Everyone else on the course was it shorts and short sleeves including Ben and Nancy, but not us, we were dressed for the cooler clime.

Ben spotted me three shots, his 13 compared to my 16 and I played, not very well.  Ben looked at me once questioningly and said, you really play a lot of golf in Texas and I said, yes, about  4 times a week.  The course was in good shape, a little wet but fairways and greens were in very good condition, blue grass fairways and bent grass greens.  We finished the 18, Sharon almost, and I came up short, but I bet Ben double or nothing on the last hole and my par beat out his double.  The weather turned out to be perfect for golf, no rain, no wind and the temps stayed around 68.

Schneider's invited us to their house for dinner and drinks after golf.  It was a great meal and good conversation.  We talked about the good ole days 18+ years ago in Oshkosh including one fact that set a record that has not been broken, 30 days in row where the temp did not get above 0 degrees, not below freezing but 32 degrees below that, ZERO.  At the end of the evening everyone was pissed up (a Wisconsin expression for tipsy), with a few before dinner cocktails, a little wine with dinner and an after dinner Kahlua. We are planning for them to come out the the RV before we leave, Nancy even has me scheduled for a tennis match.
