Golf Day at Mascoutin

June 13, 2013 Day 13

Most of the morning was spent getting ready to go play golf with the boys at Mascoutin, Ben, Mark and Ron.  Sharon delivered, dropped, me at Ben's office around 11:30 and then she took off to gather things necessary for the evening dinner.  Ben and I loaded up and headed for the Subway, for a quick sandwich on the road to Mascoutin.

Mascoutin golf course, 27 holes, is located in the small town of Berlin, pronounced Berlin, not like the city in Germany, west of Oshkosh and is well known for its fur coats.  This is where Sharon got her bribe to come to Wisconsin in 1991, still has it and wears it occasionally.  We arrived at the golf course where everything was set up, nice people here in Wisconsin.  Mark is the person that gave Curtis the opportunity when he came to Oshkosh 18 years ago.  My thanks still go out to Mark and I made it known to him again today.  Back to the golf, the course was in great condition and the greens were running fast and true.  We decided to play for quarters, six, six and six, where the bet was one for low team putts, one for low ball, one for low high ball and one for something else.  So there were a total of four points available per hole the max was $1 per hole you could win or lose.  Well I finally brought a game and I ended up on the winning team all three matches and won all the money, of course I shared it with Sharon.  Oh by the way, Mark is the owner and Ron is Curtis' boss at Waldan, so I hope this does not cost him too much.

After golf Ben and I dropped by to pick up Nancy to go back to the RV for dinner.  Curtis had stopped by and we all had a wonderful Happy Hour.  Nancy brought Sharon a small gift, it was a package of cocktail napkins with a picture of a couple at someones house for dinner talking to the hosts with a caption that read "We didn't have time to pick up a bottle of wine, but this is what we would have spent.", as he hand the host two bucks.  Maybe this is where the the term "Two Buck Chuck" came from, and his name is Chuck.

We had steaks on the grill and a nice red wine, Nancy drinks white.
