Golf in McCall

July 6, 2014 Day 25

Temperature this morning was 55, still nice and cool for the morning walk.  The reason for the morning temperature reference is for all my good friends in Austin and other warm environs so they will be envious, I wish I also had access to the humidity, let me check Weather Bug right now and see what it says, currently at 2:43 in the afternoon of July 7, it is 16% humidity, eat your heart out.

We are hopeful that the town empties out today and goes from packed to just plain full.  This morning, when I was in Ridley's, buying Sharon a Sunday news paper so she would have access to a TV guide, one of the cashier's was saying that on Thursday, July 3, they had done their most business ever in one day and that it even surpassed some of the Ridley's stores weekly sales.  No that's pretty busy.  Getting people out of town will allow us to get around to the nicer spots in town and rid the town of all the little wonderful children.

Sharon fixed a great Sunday breakfast, bacon and eggs, the RV really smells good.  It's not time to venture out to The Pancake House (TPH) but it won't be too long.  Can hardly wait for the Fred special, a pancake sandwich and the table size cinnamon roll, 'em 'em good.  Stay tuned.

This afternoon it was golf at the McCall Golf Club.  On Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 5PM they have a special rate for 9 holes, when you walk it's $10, so it gets pretty backed.  About a buck a hole is not too bad.  They have three nines, Aspen, Birch and Ceder; we played Ceder.  Started out with Al, me and Al's friend Lou.  Lou got frustrated at the slow start, went off in his cart played the 9th hole, came back teed off with us, lost two balls and called it an evening.  Even though Al lost two balls on the first hole, he persevered and completed the round, not before loosing a few more balls.  There was a two some behind us on the second hole and we asked them to join us as it was full ahead of us.  Two young men doing some summering in McCall from Las Vegas, NV.  One guy could hit it a country mile.  I forgot their names so I call them Chad and John.  I had a decent round going until the 9th hole, where I hit it out of bounds, it's a very narrow course, but I came away with the same ball I started with.

Back at the park, after golf, we had happy hour, and hamburgers on the grill.  Mine was a green Chile cheese burger.
