Home at Last

September 13, 2014, Saturday Day 94

It was cold in Lubbock this morning, 47 degrees, thought we had gotten out of the cold country,

We were waiting for it to get light, but wanted to get off early to beat the football crowds, Tech was playing Arkansas this afternoon.  We left at 9 and were able to miss all the football traffic.

It was another day of smooth sailing and the truck performed perfectly; thank you Jesus.

We had a pre-determined stop coming into Sun City.  A stop at the Andice General Store for a GCCB.

When we got there my customary parking place was taken by police cars with flashing lights and an ambulance parked if front of the general store.  We parked in the church parking lot just down the street.  Across the street was a manned water stop for a bicycle race in the area.  We stopped and talked to one of the bike people and said that some one had run through the tee coming down Williams Drive and had hit two parked cars in the General Store parking lot.  Driver was taken off in the ambulance and his car by tow truck.  Other cars were just bent.  Our bike person also informed us the the neighbor's cat from across the road was run over and killed earlier in the day crossing the road.  I guess that curiosity does kill the cat, but we made it out alive.

The GCCB was great as usual and afterward we headed down the road and parked at the house around 4 PM.   Looks like they are cutting back on the General Store offerings and favoring the inside burger eating more.  Good move.

Another great trip in the record books, this one possibly more interesting than the others.
