On the Road Again 2014

We have some catching up to do.  Due to technical difficulties and other reasons we are here in Las Vegas on day 7 doing the blog for the first time.

June 12, 2014, Day 1

Listen closely now and you can hear Willie and the boys warming up in the back ground with our favorite get away song, On The Road Again.  Welcome Bloggies, like groupies or for those people that don't have any thing better to do but follow a mindless blog.

This year we are starting a little later as we wanted to attend our Grand Daughter's graduation from Cedar Park High school.  I was a great ceremony and her parents are very proud of her.  She will be attending Our Lady of the Lake Collage in San Antonio in the fall.

Left the house in good hands with Rolland, next door neighbor watching for over-flow mail and Dick minding the golf cart monthly.  We did some extra preparations inside the house this time as we do not have anyone staying there as in years past.  To prevent evaporation we wrapped the toilet bowls and tanks with plastic wrap and poured in a little bleach to prevent mildew.  To prevent flooding, inside the house we turned off the inside water in case of a leak.  Also emptied the ice makers of ice and turned them off and set the inside thermostat to 82.  Hope this is enough.

We left Sun City at 9 AM today, driving to Fort Stockton.  It was 103 degrees en route and we had lunch in the truck to take advantage of the AC.  We made it by 3:30, 362 miles.  When we stopped it took a while to get the RV to cool down.  We have adopted a new set up process.  We park the RV and immediately hook up the electric so that we can start the AC and the cooling down process.  Then chock the wheels (this is for Tom's benefit), and then unhook the truck.

Oh yes, let's not forget Happy Hour  A nice Kirkland Bourbon for Fred and Grey Goose on the rocks for Sharon, with a couple of olives.  The HH snack was Popcorn furnished by Sheri, so I guess you can say that Sheri sponsored HH tonight.  By the way, HH sponsorships are still available, so just drop me a note and I will make all the arrangements.

Dinner tonight was at the restaurant in the RV park, the Road Runner Cafe, better known as the fly catcher. It was OK, except for the flies, Sharon had Chicken and I had there special, ribs.

Sometime during the night it got cool enough for the AC to stop running.  At 6:30 AM it was 74 inside and 76 outside.
