52° this morning, clear sky's.
Still waiting on the license plate for the 5th Wheel ,
Went to Council for lunch, just for something to do and see the scenery. Pretty significant road construction in the canyon from McCall to Meadows. Signs said expect 20 - 30 minute delays. They were blasting out part of the mountain to make room for more roadway. Lucky for us the delay was not that long.
Didn't exactly know where to eat, I told Sharon to look for the place with the most cars. Well that was hard to do, as there were hardly any cars around in Council. We picked a most likely place, 7 Devils Cafe. When we got there the place had two customers. We ordered anyway and the burgers were just fine. No GCCB, but it did have jalapenos, bacon and cheese, it was called the Ogar. We knew that we were in the right place when just before we left six people came in all with cowboy boots and spurs, had to be a locals place to eat.
Seven Devils is the name of a copper mine up in the mountains 6,800 feet and an ambitious project to build a railroad up to there from Council in 1898 failed due to lack of funding. Much like Council.
HH tonight at F&M's, change in plans, HH here including Al and Nancy for the first time, then off to golf with Al at 6. Played like crap.
Happy Birthday Droop, the first of the five of us that have stayed in close contact since high school. The old man of the group.
