Highway History

September 4, 2013, Wednesday, Day 97

We left Wells, Nevada, at 9:00 our time.

One of the reasons we took this route to get to Saint George was it was recommended by Eddie P.  As it turns out it was a good road for the most part and not much traffic, but is was two lane and there was not much traffic, it was lonely.  We both got to wondering what if we had some trouble, with no one around how would we get help.  We decided that next time we will stick to the interstate.

We did run into some Highway History along the way.  We were on the Pony Express Route, which was the Stage Coach line before that and it was the same route the telegraph took when it was installed.

Made it to Saint George  at 3:30, it was 101 and getting hotter.  Got hooked up as soon as possible to get the AC flowing.

We had dinner at George's on the Corner, a recommendation from Marcia.  After dinner we went over to our friends, Judy and Ronnie for desert, I've known Ronnie since the fourth grade and we continue to keep in touch.
