Sunday Breakfast

July 26, Sunday

We enjoyed Sharon's terrific Sunday Morning Breakfast, bacon and eggs with Raisin toast, just the way you like it.  Em, Em, good.

We caught the early show, 1pm, of the Free State of Jones, staring Matthew McConaughey, he did a great job and the story was new to me as I hadn't known that the confederates fought themselves.

We had blizzards for lunch.

Back at the park it was 111 degrees so we waited until it got down to 106 before we cooked salmon on the grill, paired with a nicely chilled Chard.

In St. George

July 25, Saturday

Breakfast this morning  at Denny's which is only a hop an a skip away from the RV park, Temple Vies.  They have a special over 55 menu and when you add a little bacon at $1.09 per strip, it completes the  meal.

Did some necessary shopping at Camping World, another sewer hose, and then off to Walmart where we picked up some 4th of July things.  You will have to wait for pictures.

Ronnie came by the park for a visit and a tour of our 5th  Wheel.  He  did not see it last  year as we bypassed St. George as we were coming  to  Idaho from Kansas.  He was dutifully impressed with all the new features and the basic construction.  Ronnie is a long time RVer.

F&M joined us for HH, where Fred fixed his fabulous Manhattans, with Knob Creek Rye.  Franz said it was one of the best he has ever tasted.

We had dinner with them at Hank's in Sun River.  Sun River is a retirement community  similar to Sun  City Texas, but not as big and only one golf course.  The restaurant features Good Mexican, similar to Northern New Mexico with lots of good green chili.  I had the pork enchiladas.

We made it an early evening as they were pooped from their packing.

Williams to St. George

July 24, Friday

Breakfast at HitchHiker.

Left before 9 and arrived at 3:30 with one pit stop that was not a rest stop be in a truck parking lot at the Chevron Station.

Hot as Hell when we arrived, 107.

Made contact with Franz and Marcia and had dinner with them at Chilies. At dinner I ordered a Jameson on the rocks, double.  The waitress informed me that I could not order a double, only a single, Utah law, you can't have more than one drink if front of you at a time and a double is two drinks.  But after you finish the first one you can order another one.  So I did.

They all had to go home after dinner to begin their packing for their upcoming trips to McCall and Buena Vista.

Train to The Grand Canyon

June 23, Thursday

We took the 10:30 train.  It started with a Gun Fight at 10 and  boarding at 10:30, we selected a domed observation car with snacks, drinks and a  bar available.  Trip was about 2 hours 15 minutes each way, with entertainment.  We had lunch at the El Tovar hotel and walked the  rim.  We got back on the train for our 4:30 departure and cocktails.  On the way back we experienced a train robbery.  Those cowboys work overtime.  Two gunfights in the morning, train ride up to the canyon, train robbery on the way back and then a performance in the evening.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

You do know that if you click on the pictures the will get bigger.

Back at the park it was Lamb Chops on the grill, fuel for the next day and blizzards.
