54° this morning
Stax for lunch, again on a week bay before the Boise crowds, no waiting.
I have been fighting a cold for a couple of weeks now and the over the counter stuff was not helping much, except to get some sleep at night. I put in a call to Evelyn, Dr. Ream's nurse for a zpack. It has worked wonderfully in the past and I need something to get me over the hump.
Idaho has received some assistance in fighting the forest fires in the area, from Canada. Yellow planes, these are water scoopers that fly into the area lakes, close to the water, and scoop up water and then fly it to the fire and dump it. There are two currently on site at the McCall airport along with a few helicopters that suck water from local area water sources.
The Canadair CL-215 (Scooper) was the first model in a series of firefightingflying boat amphibious aircraft built by Canadair and later Bombardier. The CL-215 is a twin-engine, high-wing aircraft designed to operate well at low speeds and in gust-loading circumstances, as are found over forest fires. It is also able to land and take off from short, unpaved airstrips.
HH and then off for Golf with Steve and Lou.
After golf I stopped by Rite Aid and picked up my Zpac.
