Shines Like a Baby's Butt

July 3, Sunday

Another great Sharon breakfast to start off the day.

Finished the RV wash today and it shines like a baby's butt.  Plugged in Sharon's vacuum so now it works and she has no excuses.

Relaxing  with a cold Coors Light in the cool shade of McCall.

HH this evening with  F&M, J&H and their park neighbors, Dick and Sheri.  They are from Caldwell, just up the  road from Boise, he is a builder and she is an interior designer for a builder, hoping to retire soon.

Little pork things on the grill topped off the day.

Happy 4th, what?

July 2, Saturday

The main goal today was the get the Cap clean of bugs.  I bought this new miracle cleaner called Bugs and All that is supposed to just make the bugs and guts just float away.  Well it did, kind  of.

Before

After

Today was the day for the Fourth of July party at the park.  I think the main reason is because this is the day they could  get the band.  The Bottom Line started playing at 6pm.

Dogs and brats from the club house outside grill were ready at 5, complete with cold Coors light, all complements of McCall RV Park.

Also real dogs.

The band is great, played here every time we've been here.  They played continuously from 6 to 10, i'd guess, I left at 9.  All oldies, the leader of the band, Randy's comment, was that if you are 40 or under it will be all new music to you.

We had a bet on the first song they would play, no one guessed it, Route 66.  Sharon and  Franz guessed Folsom Prison Blues and I Walk The Line, which were both played during the evening so they split the bet.

We Made it, McCall

July 1, Friday

Now we are officially in July.

Sharon and I had breakfast in Boise before we left, F&M had breakfast in and left before us.

We  left around 10 and arrived McCall at 12:30.  Great trip up the canyon.

Set up and had a beer and relaxing.

HH with F&M then dead chicken on the grill.  The wine pairing was not ideal, not white cold so we had some chilled red, it did in a pinch.

Happy Anniversary #54

June 30, Thursday

The RV idiot jumped up and bit me today.  We did not have to leave early today so we were taking out time.  First Sharon could not get the slides to come in. I tried with the same result.  I have always worried about this happening as these are big hunking extensions that run hydrolicly and there is no way to budge them manually.  So I decided to try and lower the leveling jacks some thinking that it would free up the slides.  Whew, it did, and Sharon was able to get them back in.  I decided hook up and pull out and wait for F&M, but I forgot to release the hitch lever and  jammed the  king pin into the closed hitch. It wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Thanks to Franz we were able to pry the hitch handle loose and only suffered a broken lock, which was a throw away to begin with, and a bent hasp that still works but needs to be bent back into shape or replaced.  Minor set backs which in the end only cost us a little time.

In route we made a stop at a casino  to let F&M catch up with us after some more construction
delays.

For some reason the GPS lady decided to give us a guided tour of down town Twin Falls, Idaho, which was not greatly appreciated.

Arrived safely in Boise at the Boise River  RV Park.

HH with  F&F then a lovely anniversary dinner at Chandlers.

I noticed that I got a little ahead of my self on the dates, but you can make the mental corrections.  If I try and correct them, it will get all my posts out of sequence.

On the road again

June 29, Wednesday

Up at 7 and our of the park at 8:12 headed fro Smith's to meet up with F&M to caravan to Wells, NV.

Made it there is good time without incident except for road construction.  At one point we were dead stopped for 30 minutes where the road was down to one lane and we were waiting for traffic to clear from the other side.  Temps were good and we had a couple of rain showers along the route.

Checked in to the Angel Lake RV Park with no sighting of Angel Lake.

HH then dinner at Bells's which was good  after a hard day's drive.  I had a half order of the world famous chicken fried prime rib.  It was world famous. I introduced Franz to New Castle Ale, which he enjoyed.

Being in Nevada Bella's also has a gentlemen's club, which we did not visit, that has a saying "Everything swells in Wells."

It's DEF time again.  If you remember from last year it stands for Diesel Exhaust Fluid.  This time I bought a 2.5 gallon  box for $16, a rip off according to the truckers.  Keep the container and fill it up with  bulk, much  cheaper.  I put all 2.5 gallons in the DEF tank in the morning.

Fixin to get ready to move along

June 28, Tuesday

Last full day in St. George so we did some necessary shopping and a small Costco run which included lunch, a real bargain.

Filled up with fuel at Smith's at $2,359 and then did an air check on the truck at Discount Tire, same good service.

Cloud cover most of the day, not extremely hot, but hot.

We had HH alone and then a nice ham and salmon  salad.

Still Hot in SG

June 27, Monday

Another hot day in St. George at least 111.

Sharon did the wash and I did the hauling.

We had lunch at Cafe Allure a local place which was operating under another name the time before.  The food was just as good as the last time.

Everyone came over for HH, F&M, Ronnie and Judy and afterward we went back to Hank's in Sun River.  Franz likes this place as they cater to the older crowd and it is quiet with no CHILDREN.
